INLINE CHOPPER PUMP

High-volume slurry transfer with integrated chopping for uninterrupted, trouble-free operation.

A high-performance centrifugal chopper pump that transfers, chops and homogenises fibrous slurry across manure, biogas and wastewater applications with six model sizes.

The EYS Inline Chopper Pump ICP Series combines a high-performance impeller with an integrated adjustable chopper knife system to simultaneously pump and reduce fibrous matter in slurry, digestate, manure and fish waste. Six models from 5.5 kW to 18.5 kW deliver flow rates from 135 to 270 m³/h across mechanical-seal sealed housings rated to 2 bar. Customisable inlet and outlet flanges and a purpose-built transport chassis make the ICP Series adaptable to any site configuration, integrating directly into new and existing pump line installations.

Product Advantages

  • Simultaneous pumping and fibre chopping eliminates the need for separate upstream maceration equipment.
  • Homogenised output reduces system blockages and extends downstream separator and pipe service life.
  • Six model range scales precisely from small farms to large biogas and industrial installations.
  • Adjustable blades are field-replaceable, minimising maintenance downtime without specialist workshop tools.
  • Customisable flanges and chassis reduce installation complexity and accelerate commissioning on site.
  • Mechanical seal construction protects motor and bearing assemblies across aggressive slurry environments.
  • Optional knife-free configuration suits clean liquid applications without impeller modification or replacement.

Features & Benefits

High-Performance Impeller The robust impeller housing and impeller geometry are engineered to sustain efficient hydraulic performance in abrasive, fibrous and high-solids slurry media that cause rapid wear in standard centrifugal designs.
Integrated Chopper Knife System Adjustable fixed knives and a rotary blade work against each other to reduce fibre size in the medium during the pumping cycle. Models to 11 kW carry double knives; 15 and 18.5 kW models carry triple knives for higher-volume applications.
Adjustable and Replaceable Blades Fixed knives are adjustable to compensate for wear and restore cutting geometry in the field. When blades reach end of life they are straightforward to replace, keeping planned maintenance events short and low-cost.
Mechanical Seal Construction A mechanical seal across all six ICP models provides reliable long-term shaft protection against slurry ingress, extending bearing and motor service life under continuous high-flow and high-pressure operating conditions.
Customisable Flange Connections Inlet and outlet flange dimensions are configurable to project-specific pipe specifications, eliminating the need for adaptor sections and reducing installation complexity across both new-build and retrofit pump line configurations.
Purpose-Built Transport Chassis Each ICP unit is mounted on a customised chassis engineered for safe on-site transport and stable installation without requiring a separate frame or mounting structure, reducing setup time and site preparation cost.
Coupling Connection Before Motor The motor coupling connection is positioned before the motor, facilitating straightforward motor removal for service or replacement without disturbing the pump body, impeller or pipe connections.
Knife-Free Operating Mode Depending on media type, the ICP Series can operate without the chopper knife mechanism installed, providing a versatile high-flow centrifugal pump option for cleaner liquids without any housing modification.

Full Description

The EYS Inline Chopper Pump ICP Series is a high-performance centrifugal pump with an integrated chopper knife mechanism, engineered for continuous high-volume transfer of fibrous slurry, digestate, raw manure and fish waste across agricultural, biogas and wastewater treatment applications. Offered in six models from 5.5 kW to 18.5 kW and delivering flow rates from 135 to 270 m³/h, the ICP Series provides a precisely scalable pumping solution for operations ranging from single-barn manure management through to large-scale biogas plant digestate handling and municipal wastewater transfer.

The defining capability of the ICP Series is the combination of pumping and fibre reduction in a single inline unit. As slurry passes through the high-performance housing, the adjustable fixed knives and rotary blade work in opposition to shear and reduce fibrous matter — straw, grass, plant fibre and similar solids — to a consistent, pumpable particle size. This simultaneous chopping and pumping action reduces the resistance of the transferred medium, lowers downstream system blockage frequency and extends the service life of separators, valves and pipe fittings downstream of the pump. Where upstream maceration is not installed, the ICP Series provides an effective integrated alternative within the pump body itself.

The knife system is engineered for straightforward field maintenance. Fixed adjustable knives can be repositioned to restore cutting geometry as wear occurs, without pump removal or specialist tooling. When blades reach the end of their serviceable life, replacement is a rapid field operation. Models in the ICP55 to ICP110 range carry double adjustable knives; the larger ICP150 and ICP185 models carry triple adjustable knives to maintain chopping capacity proportional to their higher flow rates. Depending on the media being transferred — for example, cleaner digestate or process water — the knife mechanism can be removed entirely, operating the unit as a standard high-performance centrifugal pump without any housing modification.

All six ICP models are sealed with a mechanical seal, providing reliable long-term shaft protection against slurry ingress across sustained continuous operation in aggressive media environments. The motor coupling connection is positioned before the motor on all models, allowing motor removal for service or replacement without disturbing the pump body, impeller assembly or connected pipework — a practical design consideration that reduces scheduled maintenance time and cost on working sites. Each unit is supplied on a customised transport chassis that doubles as the installation base, eliminating the requirement for a separate fabricated skid and simplifying site installation significantly.

Inlet and outlet flange dimensions are configurable to project specification, allowing the ICP Series to connect directly into existing pipe infrastructure without requiring adaptor sections, offset connections or pipe diameter changes. This customisation extends to installations where non-standard flange ratings or orientations are required. The EYS Inline Chopper Pump ICP Series integrates directly into ENVIROXX pumping system configurations alongside inline macerators, screw press separators and piston pump installations, serving as the primary high-flow transfer pump in complete slurry management and biogas plant process systems.
