The EYS PTO35 Chopper Pump is a tractor-driven centrifugal chopper pump engineered for high-volume, high-head slurry transfer without dependency on fixed electrical power infrastructure. Driven at 1,000 rpm PTO output through a 2.73:1 gear ratio to a 2,730 rpm impeller, it delivers flow rates from 90 to 300 m³/h at heads sustained above 120 mwc across the full range. An integrated chopper mechanism reduces fibrous matter at the pump inlet, protecting the impeller and enabling consistent transfer of raw manure, digestate and fibrous agricultural slurry from any field or remote site location.
The EYS PTO35 Chopper Pump is a tractor-driven high-head centrifugal chopper pump purpose-engineered for the high-volume transfer of raw manure, digestate and fibrous slurry from remote, temporary and off-grid locations where fixed electrical pump installations are impractical or uneconomical. Driven from a standard 1,000 rpm agricultural PTO output through a purpose-selected 2.73:1 internal gear ratio, the pump drives its impeller to 2,730 rpm generating the hydraulic performance of a high-speed centrifugal pump from the tractor’s own power take-off without requiring any electrical infrastructure at the transfer site.
The pump’s performance envelope is defined by an exceptionally flat head curve across the operating flow range. From 90 to 180 m³/h, the PTO35 sustains heads of 149 to 152 mwc with negligible pressure drop, a performance characteristic that is particularly valuable in field-to-storage and pit-to-lagoon transfer applications where pipeline distances and elevation changes demand sustained head delivery regardless of instantaneous flow demand. At 240 m³/h the head remains at 140 mwc, and at maximum rated flow of 300 m³/h the head is 120 mwc, a curve profile that gives operators reliable, predictable performance across a wide operating range without the steep pressure drop that characterises lower-specification pump designs.
The integrated chopper mechanism at the pump inlet addresses the primary failure mode of standard centrifugal pumps when transferring unscreened agricultural slurry: fibrous matter wrap-around on the impeller. By reducing long straw, plant fibre and other fibrous material to a manageable particle size at the inlet, the chopper prevents the impeller blockages that cause unplanned stoppages, seal damage and unproductive downtime during field transfer operations. This makes the PTO35 directly applicable to raw manure management tasks where material pre-screening is neither practical nor available, situations that would otherwise require a piston pump or inline macerator upstream of a standard centrifugal pump.
Connection to the tractor is via a standard 1¾ inch Z20 spline PTO coupling at the pump end, compatible with standard agricultural PTO drive shafts. A minimum tractor power of 197 hp is required to operate the pump at rated conditions; a 250 hp tractor is recommended to sustain full performance at the high end of the flow and head range. A dedicated 4¼ inch priming port ensures reliable pump priming before each deployment, eliminating dry-running risk at first start across variable field conditions. The 6¼ inch suction inlet and 4¼ inch discharge outlet are sized for standard agricultural pipe fittings, enabling rapid connection and disconnection across multiple transfer points without specialist tooling. The EYS PTO35 Chopper Pump integrates into mobile slurry management configurations as the primary transfer pump for remote and temporary site applications where electrical submersible or inline pump systems cannot be deployed.
